JSON to CSV Converter Online - Free & Private

Paste a JSON array and get CSV you can open in Excel, Google Sheets or any database tool. Nested objects are flattened into dotted column names, and every row keeps the same columns even when some objects are missing keys.

How to convert JSON to CSV

  1. Paste a JSON array into the left editor, open a .json file, or drop one onto the page.
  2. The CSV appears on the right as you type. Turn off Live if you would rather press Convert (or Ctrl+Enter).
  3. Copy the CSV, or download it as a .csv file that opens straight in Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice or Numbers.

What the converter does with your data

Each object in the array becomes one row. The column list is the union of every key in every object, in the order the keys are first seen, so rows that are missing a field simply get an empty cell instead of shifting the other values out of place.

With Flatten nested on, a nested object such as {"address": {"city": "London"}} becomes a column called address.city. Arrays inside a row are written as JSON text in a single cell, so nothing is lost. If the input is an object that wraps a single array, such as {"users": [...]}, that array is used. Any other single object becomes a one-row table.

Values that contain the delimiter, quotes or line breaks are quoted the way spreadsheets expect, and quotes inside a value are doubled.

Options

Example

The JSON [{"id":1,"name":"Ada","address":{"city":"London"}}] becomes:

id,name,address.city
1,Ada,London

Need to go the other way? The CSV to JSON converter reads the file back, and its Nest dotted keys option rebuilds the nested objects.

Private by design

The conversion runs entirely in your browser. Your JSON is never uploaded to our server, which makes the tool safe for exports that contain customer records or API keys.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert JSON to CSV?

Paste a JSON array of objects into the left editor or open a .json file. The CSV appears on the right straight away. Choose the delimiter, then copy the CSV or download it as a .csv file.

How are nested objects converted?

With Flatten nested turned on, nested objects become dotted column names, so {"address": {"city": "London"}} becomes a column called address.city. Arrays inside a row are written as JSON text in one cell.

Can I open the CSV in Excel?

Yes. Download the .csv file and open it in Excel, Google Sheets, Numbers or LibreOffice. If your Excel uses a comma as the decimal separator, choose the semicolon delimiter.

What if objects have different keys?

The columns are the union of all keys, in the order they first appear. A row that is missing a key gets an empty cell, so every value stays in its own column.

Is there a size limit?

There is no fixed limit. Conversion runs in your browser, so files of a few megabytes convert in well under a second.
